Trudy’s background is in Sales and Distribution. In the early

1990s she founded a distribution company to release Kinowelt

and New Line Cinema titles in Romania. Crescendo Films

successfully released titles like Austin Powers, The Cell, The

Bachelor, Final Destination among others.

As a Film-maker, Trudy started her career in 1997, in London,

working on over thirty short Films as a First Assistant Director

and Co-producer.

Three years later, Trudy set up Red Pictures Ltd, an

independent production company, to develop feature length

screenplays. Her most successful collaboration was with the writer Roberto Trippini and led to Trudy co-writing and producing Are You Ready For Love?, a romantic comedy produced at Carnaby Films and distributed in England by Sony Classics. The Fillm received Five awards at the prestigious Montecarlo Film Festival in 2006, including Best Screenplay. At Carnaby, Trudy also produced Dolphins, (released in the US under Octane by Lionsgate) the fast-paced car-chasing ?lm, co-produced the psychological thriller, Daddy’s Girl (released in the US by Grindhouse Entertainment) and was the Assistant Producer on The Last Drop (released in the UK by Sony Pictures Classics). To focus more on writing and directing, Trudy left Carnaby Films in 2007. The short ?lm, Road to Damascus, with a nonlinear storyline about the racial judgements we encounter in our lives, marked Trudy’s debut as a Director. In the summer of 2007 Trudy started shooting LoveTalk, an uplifting feature documentary about love and relationships. For the ?lm she interviewed 25 of the world’s top experts in the area of love and relationships including best seller authors John Gray, Helen Fisher, Ian Kerner, Lillian Glass, Leil Loundes.  The Film was completed in July 2009 and is becoming a ‘must see’ movie for anyone interested to transform their relationships.

In February 2010 Trudy optioned the short screenplay, The Boy Who Became King, after reading it on InkTip.com. The script is a beautiful tale of life’s lessons told to a seven year old by his grandfather and was a finalist at the American Gems screenplay

competition in 2008. The Film was shot in Los Angeles in May 2010 for four days, on the Red camera and edited in London by Kant Pan, Oscar nominated for the editing of The Crying Game and it will be completed at the end of August 2010.

In May 2010 Trudy shot and directed Swan, One Man’s Journey... , an empowering documentary about the celebrated ?lmmaker Andy Swan. The ?lm was produced by Area 9 Productions and was given the Alan Bailey Award for Excellence in Filmmaking at the Action of Film International Film Festival in July 2010 in Pasadena. With the writer Michael Phillips, Trudy is developing a comedy with a soul, Three Days with the Reubens, a story of a Jewish family in Los Angeles. With Vanessa Gil, Trudy is co-writing Angels’ Gate, a powerful fantasy adventure story set in 2180, following one man’s searching for the Truth.

Ramin Nematollahi pursued writing after having

failed his high school senior level English class, and being reminded by his instructor that English will forever be his second language.   These words infuriated him and gave him the motivation to conquer the powers of the written word. He immersed himself in numerous writing classes and workshops at Santa Monica College, UCLA, USC and Cal State Northridge, where he ?nally attained his degree in Biotechnology.  His passion for writing and ?lm lead him to numerous positions at HBO Films, Viacom Television and Lions Gate.  He recently sold his short script The Boy Who Became King to Trudy Sargent, producer at Red Pictures, and he was fortunate enough to see his words come to life.  The story, which was inspired by real events, focuses on a terminally-ill Grandfather who tries to instill his life's lessons on his grandson.  He does this by inventing a fantastic story that not only captures the imagination of his grandson, but all those around him.  Ramin’s interests in the human condition have lead him to pursue an M.A. in Psychology.  His goal is to work with adolescence and children in the future.  He is developing a number of screenplays that capture the heart and soul of audiences.  His aim is to inspire and be inspired.   Currently he is consulting on a documentary with the LAPD and Scott Free Productions following the lives of Middle Eastern law enforcement officers and their impact after 9/11.   He also has several completed scripts that are currently making the festival rounds.  He continues to write, even if it's on napkins.
