Synopsis: In a garage somewhere in America, two regular guys take a break to discuss world events. Their argument becomes progressively outrageous as they debate global warming, animal rights, gay rights, urban myths, over-population, government bureaucracy, religion, and even baseball.


Biographies

Gayla has written award-winning feature and short film screenplays. Her second short film, "Slap" (which she wrote and produced) stars Clancy Brown and Mel Rodriguez, and is directed by Grant Barbeito, and edited by Christo Brock. Slap had its world premier at the Palm Springs International Short Fest (June 2009) and its Los Angeles premier at the LA Short Fest (July 2009). Her first short film, "A Pig's Ear" (which she also wrote and produced) has been accepted at 15 festivals, including the LA Short Fest (August 2008). Her third short, "Heloise", is currently in post-production. 

She was accepted into the 2007 Mentorship Program of Women in Film (WIF). She served on the Northwestern University Entertainment Alliance (NUEA) Board for three years. She is also president of a management consulting firm (that has served 200 clients in 25 states and in 6 foreign countries), a soccer mom, and an avid international traveler to more than 50 countries. She has a BS degree, Northwestern University, School of Communication; a Masters degree, Tufts University; Ph.D. and Masters degrees, University of Virginia; and a post-doctorate fellowship from the Woodrow Wilson Fellowship Program. 

Director/Cinematographer - Grant Barbeito

Grant Barbeito has more than 14 years experience in all areas of television and film production. He has worked for MTV, Urban Box Office, BRAVO, A&E, ABC, Habitat for Humanity, and Michael Moore among others. As Director, DP, and Editor, Grant has worked on features, TV productions, infomercials, and commercials. Grant prides himself on being a team leader and being a part of a creative community.

In 1999, Grant was accepted into the Sundance Film Festival with his short film RUBEN. RUBEN was selected by more than 30 film festivals and garnered two nominations, Best Short at Deauville Film Festival and Jury Award at the Newport International.

In 2003, Grant founded 
http://www.plantitfilmproductions.com and has made dozens of commercials and short documentaries, as well as animation and live action projects. He recently completed an animation commercial campaign for TOPO Ranch that showcased at Sundance 2009.
